JET Alum Releases a Parody of Ariana Grande’s “7 Rings” Dubbed “Small Charcoal Grill \/ Shichirin”
\nAs you may or may not know, in January 2019 Ariana Grande found her new tattoo the center of controversy when what she thought said “7 Rings” in Japanese actually said shichirin which means “small charcoal grill.”<\/p>\n

A recent JET alum, Andy Shartzer (Shizuoka, 2014-2016), and his sketch group Overstep Comedy, made a tribute to the art of Japanese BBQ, “Small Charcoal Grill \/ Shichirin” — written by and starring Andy Shartzer, directed by Jatin Chhugani, and produced by Otter Lee and Helen Shih. In the original song, Ariana shows her love and appreciation for her friends by buying them expensive gifts. In this parody, “Andiana Grande” shows his love for his boys with expensive, delicious morsels of meat. While the video is a parody of Ari’s tattoo fail, it is also an homage to her aesthetic of the original “7 Rings” and a tribute to the art of Japanese BBQ.<\/p>\n
