Brooklyn Aozora Gakuen (Blue Sky Preschool) is a bilingual Japanese preschool in Brooklyn, founded in 2012. We provide a balanced Japanese-English early childhood education for children living in the multicultural, progressive urban environment of New York City. Our emphasis is not only on teaching the children Japanese values, morals and spirit, but also on instilling a world perspective through activities derived from American and international cultures.<\/p>\n

Currently we are seeking an experienced, creative and progressive-thinking educator to lead the growth of our daycare and preschool programs as the Educational Director. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, collaborative spirit, and be a great motivator and supervisor. The Educational Director will be responsible for the continued development and supervision of our educational approach, bilingual curriculum, community outreach, and classroom management. As Aozora Gakuen is a young and growing school, a hands on problem solver with a flexible and creative mindset will be the ideal candidate. Working closely with the Founder\/Managing Director, this is an opportunity to use your talent and experience, to help build a school, loved by the students and at the heart of a thriving multi-cultural Japanese community.<\/p>\n

REQUIREMENTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Master Degree in early childhood education or related field of study<\/li>\n
  • Minimum of five years of successful experience as a group teacher in a program for children under six years of age<\/li>\n
  • New York State Teaching Certification in Nursery – 6, K – 6, Birth – 2 or Special Education<\/li>\n
  • Excellent communication skill in both English and Japanese<\/li>\n
  • Computer skill and literacy<\/li>\n
  • Interpersonal skills<\/li>\n
  • Full-time<\/li>\n
  • Knowledge and understanding of bilingual education is preferable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
