Rutgers Law School has two non-teaching attorney\u00a0positions available to work on joint\u00a0projects of the Immigrant Justice Clinic and the Child Advocacy Clinic<\/b>.<\/p>\n

STAFF ATTORNEY<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

First, the\u00a0Rutgers Child Advocacy Clinic at Rutgers Law School in Newark, New Jersey seeks to hire\u00a0a full-time Staff Attorney to begin immediately.<\/p>\n

The Staff\u00a0Attorney will work on two separate, but\u00a0closely related projects involving immigrant children: (1) The Staff Attorney will recruit, train, and mentor pro bono\u00a0immigration practitioners who are willing to represent immigrant child clients where there is a potential claim for<\/p>\n

Special Immigration Juvenile Status (SIJS); and (2) the Staff Attorney will provide immigration representation to\u00a0children in North Jersey who are in the custody of the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency.\u00a0 The position will be based on the Law School’s Newark campus, although there may be some ability to split time between the Newark and Camden campuses at the option of the attorney.<\/p>\n

The ideal candidate will have 1-3\u00a0years of\u00a0experience in either\u00a0family law or immigration law, along with\u00a0excellent oral and written communication skills.\u00a0 Bilingual (Spanish) preferred, but\u00a0not required.\u00a0 Experience working with children preferred, but not required. Salary $65-75,000.\u00a0\u00a0This position is externally funded\u00a0and contingent upon available funds.\u00a0 This is\u00a0the third year of the project, which is anticipated to move from one-year\u00a0to two-year contract cycles shortly.<\/p>\n

SUPERVISING ATTORNEY<\/b><\/span><\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

Second, the Rutgers Child Advocacy Clinic at Rutgers Law School in Newark, New Jersey and the Rutgers Immigrant Justice Clinic at Rutgers Law School in Camden, New Jersey are seeking to hire a Full-Time Supervising Attorney (non-teaching) to begin immediately.<\/p>\n

The supervising\u00a0attorney will report to the Clinic Directors and will provide supervision on an externally funded Project where attorneys and a paralegal are providing legal representation to children in New Jersey\u2019s foster care system with regard to their immigration needs. The supervising\u00a0attorney also will handle a caseload and provide direct immigration representation to children in New Jersey who are involved with the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency. It is required that anyone applying for the position have at least five years of experience in immigration law and some exposure to family law. Additionally, the supervising\u00a0attorney must be bilingual (English\/Spanish) and have access to a car. The ideal candidate also will have some past supervisory experience. The position will be based on the Law School\u2019s Newark campus, but some travel to the Law School\u2019s Camden campus will be required. Please note that this is not a teaching position.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n
