The Mainichi Newspapers is a major daily Japanese newspaper printed in Japan with around 3 million readers. It is the oldest national daily newspaper in Japan founded in 1872. Our corporate information can be found at <a href=\"https:\/\/mainichi.jp\/\">https:\/\/mainichi.jp\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinating with Japanese news correspondents in gathering news and developing articles.<\/li>\n<li>General proofreading.<\/li>\n<li>Researching and gathering news, conducting interviews, developing and maintaining news sources, covering press conferences and other events ( such as sporting events, award ceremonies, criminal trials, etc.) in English and Japanese.<\/li>\n<li>Administrative duties are included.<\/li>\n<li>No byline opportunities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have a keen interest and understanding of U.S. current events, and journalism.<\/li>\n<li>Must be a native English speaker who is proficient at speaking and writing English effectively.<\/li>\n<li>Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, detail oriented, and research savvy.<\/li>\n<li>Must be highly motivated in journalism and pitch ideas\/stories to report on.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to analyze news stories to see what is interesting and newsworthy.<\/li>\n<li>Persistent in achieving goals and objectives under deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Must be available to work on weekends and\/or irregular hours when needed.<\/li>\n<li>Must have B.A. minimum and reliable transportation.
