This includes positioning Japan Society as a leader in the field of US-Japan educational exchange. The Director is responsible for program operations, supervision of Education Department staff, and development of new program initiatives. Key programs include the Junior Fellows Student Exchange Program featuring study-tours for American and Japanese high school students, professional development workshops for K-12 teachers, promotion of and development of dedicated curriculum website for educators, \u201cAbout Japan: A Teacher\u2019s Resource\u201d, on-site programs at New York City public and private schools, and public programs for families and children. The Director is required to take an active role in fundraising, and to collaborate with the Development Department on raising funds for Education Department programs. The position requires travel to Japan, and extensive communication with Japanese partners.
