Yayoi Kusama\u2019s work has transcended some of the most important art movements of the second half of the twentieth century, including Pop Art and Minimalism.\u00a0The exhibitions will feature sixty-six paintings from her iconic\u00a0My<\/em> Eternal<\/em> Soul<\/em>\u00a0<\/em>series, new large-scale flower sculptures, a polka-dotted environment, and two\u00a0Infinity<\/em> Mirror<\/em> Rooms<\/em>\u00a0<\/em>in the Chelsea locations, and a selection of new\u00a0Infinity<\/em> Nets<\/em>\u00a0<\/em>paintings uptown.\u00a0The celebrated Infinity<\/em> Mirror<\/em> Rooms<\/em> invite the viewer to experience a sense of infinity through the play of reflections between the circular shapes of light and the surrounding mirrors. The\u00a0Infinity<\/em> Net<\/em>\u00a0<\/em>paintings on view at the gallery\u2019s uptown location are the latest works in a series begun in New York in the 1950s, when Abstract Expressionism was still the dominant style.
