The school is a six-year combined junior and senior school focusing on inquiry-based international education. It is currently an International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP) candidate school, with planned authorization visits for both programs scheduled next year.<\/p>\n<p>At present, the school is seeking to employ a full-time English teacher who is able to begin teaching classes starting from April 2018. This position is not an ALT position, and candidates are expected to possess the skills, knowledge, and experience necessary to teach in a solo capacity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The successful candidate is expected to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Serve as a homeroom teacher or assistant homeroom teacher<\/li>\n<li>Oversee course instruction, curriculum development, and grading in IB Language Acquisition classes\u00a0and other inquiry-based classes<\/li>\n<li>Create and reflect on unit plans for each unit of inquiry<\/li>\n<li>Support the planning and development of grade and school level events<\/li>\n<li>Participate in subject, grade, faculty, committee, and parent meetings<\/li>\n<li>Lead and support extracurricular club activities<\/li>\n<li>Actively collaborate with other teachers to help establish a new, and progressive educational\u00a0program here in Japan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The successful candidate will be employed under the same remuneration system as the school\u2019s Japanese faculty members, with the possibility of earning tenure based on the applicant\u2019s performance.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Undergraduate degree, preferably in English, Linguistics, TESOL, or Education<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with school\/work environments in Japan, as well as working level proficiency in Japanese\u00a0(Candidates should have JLPT N2 or N1, or equivalent)<\/li>\n<li>Three years of teaching or EFL\/ESL related experience<\/li>\n<li>Middle\/High school teaching qualifications from the applicant\u2019s home country (If selected, the school\u00a0will help said applicant apply for a temporary Japanese teaching credential).<\/li>\n<li>A self-starter mindset with the drive to take on new tasks headfirst.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferable Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience with, or knowledge of the International Baccalaureate Programme.
