The appointment will be for a four-year period starting from\u00a01 April 2018, with the possibility of a second four year appointment subject to the assessment of performance evaluations by the Executive Secretary.<\/p>\n<p>The NPFC is an inter-governmental organization established in 2015 by the Convention on the Conservation and Management of the High Seas Fisheries Resources in the North Pacific Ocean and headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. The Convention&#8217;s primary objective is to ensure the long-term conservation and sustainable use of fisheries resources in the Convention Area while protecting the marine ecosystems of the North Pacific Ocean in which these resources occur.<\/p>\n<p>For further information on the Commission, please refer to the following link:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.npfc.int\/\">https:\/\/www.npfc.int<\/a> \u00a0 Under the overall supervision of the Executive Secretary of the NPFC, the Finance Coordinator will assist the Executive Secretary regarding financial matters of the Commission.<\/p>\n<p>The Finance Coordinator\u2019s primary functions and duties are to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Establish,\u00a0 operate,\u00a0 maintain\u00a0 and\u00a0 update\u00a0 financial\u00a0 accounting,\u00a0 monitoring\u00a0 and\u00a0 control mechanisms according\u00a0 to\u00a0 international\u00a0 standards for\u00a0 all\u00a0 financial systems\u00a0 for\u00a0 the Commission on behalf of the Executive Secretary<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Executive\u00a0 Secretary\u00a0 in\u00a0 payment,\u00a0 disbursement\u00a0 procedures\u00a0 and\u00a0 travel arrangements<\/li>\n<li>Annually arrange and support independent auditors for the Commission<\/li>\n<li>Assists the Executive Secretary in the preparation of budgets for the regular functioning of the Secretariat and associated special projects<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with service providers for all infrastructure, equipment, maintenance requirements for the Commission<\/li>\n<li>Assist with preparations of the Commission meetings and workshops<\/li>\n<li>Perform other duties as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><strong>Selection Criteria \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Essential Qualifications<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be a citizen of an NPFC Member (Current Members: Canada, China, Japan, Korea, Russia, Chinese Taipei, USA, Vanuatu)<\/li>\n<li>University degree or equivalent in business, accounting or related fields<\/li>\n<li>At least five years of professional experience in the field of financial management and accounting<\/li>\n<li>Must be computer literate in Microsoft word processing (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other financial software packages<\/li>\n<li>Good communication skills both in English and Japanese<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Asset Qualifications<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in international accounting systems<\/li>\n<li>Working experience in international organizations<\/li>\n<li>Certified accountant<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Salary:<\/strong> The\u00a0 annual\u00a0 salary is\u00a0 6,218,000\u00a0 Japanese Yen\u00a0 all\u00a0 inclusive\u00a0 and\u00a0 will be\u00a0 paid monthly.\u00a0 The Commission has a benefits package that includes pension, disability, medical and dental.
