The program coordinator reports to the Director of the JICC.<\/p>\n<p>Duties:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate all aspects of JET Program: recruitment, inquiries, selection, orientations, departure, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Plan and execute events independently and on a team: draft invitations and guest lists, create and maintain event logistics sheet, track RSVPs, budgeting, lead on-site coordination.<\/li>\n<li>Respond to public inquiries on public diplomacy issues.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in JICC administrative duties as required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Skills and requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree with minimum 2-3 years of working experience.<\/li>\n<li>Work authorization in the United States.<\/li>\n<li>Clear and concise oral and written communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Strong, detail-oriented planning and execution skills, coordinating multiple projects and prioritizing various deadlines, with ability to produce quantitative and qualitative feedback.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Japanese current events, working culture, and etiquette.<\/li>\n<li>Computer proficiency, internet literacy, social networking service knowledge.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to remain flexible and willingness to adapt in a team.<\/li>\n<li>Firsthand experience of JET Program would be an asset.<\/li>\n<li>Professionally functioning level of oral and written Japanese language is desirable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply: Send cover letter, r\u00e9sum\u00e9, and a 300-400 word essay in English or\/and Japanese about the following topic:\u00a0How do people-to-people interactions contribute to understanding a different culture and what role do these interactions play in deepening Japan-U.S. relations?<\/p>\n<p>Please send application materials by e-mail to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:info@ls.mofa.go.jp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">info@ls.mofa.go.jp<\/a>\u00a0with the subject line \u201cProgram Coordinator Position (JET Program).\u201d The deadline to apply is\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Friday, August 18<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Interview: Due to the high volume of resumes we receive, only successful candidates will be contacted.
