INDIVIDUAL GIVING ASSOCIATE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Reporting to the Director of Individual Giving, the Individual Giving Associate provides the administrative backbone for the Individual Giving Department, ensuring the smooth operation of all aspects of Japan Society\u2019s membership and gift programs, including renewals; gift processing and acknowledgement; database management, data entry and recordkeeping; handling of member queries; special events assistance; and research.<\/p>\n

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong> include the following. Other duties may be assigned.<\/p>\n

\n

Day-to-Day<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. \n

    Manage daily individual membership operations and other types of individual contributions, including the processing of solicitations, renewals, upgrades, and gift acknowledgments, with follow-up when necessary. Update individual records in Raiser\u2019s Edge and SRO databases, as needed;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    Field inquiries via the individual membership phone line and email inbox; providing member service\/troubleshooting, referring more complex inquiries to appropriate Japan Society staff;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    Manage and fulfill individual member benefit obligations and requests, including complimentary catalogs, gallery passes, and special offers;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    Manage and implement plans for department campaign mailings, providing administrative assistance as needed, while managing all department electronic and paper filing systems;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  5. \n

    Log department expenses for budget tracking, submit check requests to Finance Department;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  6. \n

    Help recruit, train and supervise interns.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Membership Benefits\/Special Events<\/span><\/p>\n

    1. \n

      Organize logistics for member events, some in conjunction with Special Events or other departments;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    2. \n

      Maintain and expand the Restaurant and Merchant Partners Program;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    3. \n

      Negotiate and publicize special offers, incentives, and discounts for members;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    4. \n

      Support the Annual Dinner, Gallery Benefit Auction\/Arts & Culture Celebration, and other select special events.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Communications<\/span><\/p>\n

        \n
      1. \n

        Coordinate all membership\/individual giving electronic and online communications, including scheduling the e-blast calendar with Japan Society\u2019s Web Producer, drafting electronic messages and the monthly e-newsletter; and drafting\/coordinating website updates;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      2. \n

        Assist in drafting campaign communications for membership and annual appeal pitches in consultation with the Director of Individual Giving;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      3. \n

        Assist with select Board-related duties including the Annual Board Appeal, Board welcome packages, complimentary membership packages, and Board Alumni Network.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Cultivation & Stewardship<\/span><\/p>\n

          \n
        1. \n

          Assist with donor cultivation and represent Individual Giving at Japan Society programs and events;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        2. \n

          Assist with research and identifying new membership and donor prospects in consultation with the Director of Individual Giving.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
