Knowledge of physics or other science is not necessary, although the employee is expected to obtain a basic understanding of the ILC over time.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Duties include:<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Maintaining the English page of Ichinoseki City\u2019s ILC website (this website), and pro-active use of ILC Facebook and Twitter accounts<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Maintaining Ichinoseki\u2019s English Living Guide. The guide can be accessed from the <\/span>left hand<span style=\"color: #000000\"> side of the Ichinoseki City website:\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #0563c1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.city.ichinoseki.iwate.jp\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.city.ichinoseki.iwate.jp\/<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Translation of Japanese newspaper articles related to the ILC, the quarterly newsletter \u201cILC News\u201d, letters written by the mayor, etc. Translation of English content into Japanese is also required at times<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Interpreting for the mayor, for researchers when they visit from abroad, etc<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Writing about local ILC events or initiatives<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Using email and the telephone (in English and Japanese)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Participating in ILC-related events<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Gathering and sharing information<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Helping other divisions in the city office with matters of international exchange etc<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Collaborating with organizations, international residents, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Visa<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">An appropriate working visa is required. Ichinoseki City can assist with visa sponsorship.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Contract period, work hours and annual leave<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">The part-time contract starts on <span class=\"aBn\"><span class=\"aQJ\">April 1, 2017<\/span><\/span> or as soon as possible thereafter (with a two-week trial period), and finishes on <span class=\"aBn\"><span class=\"aQJ\">March 31, 2019<\/span><\/span> (it is possible to renew the contract).<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">The working week is from <span class=\"aBn\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Monday<\/span><\/span> to <span class=\"aBn\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Friday<\/span><\/span>, with four days working <span class=\"aBn\"><span class=\"aQJ\">9am to 4pm<\/span><\/span> and one day working <span class=\"aBn\"><span class=\"aQJ\">9am to 3pm<\/span><\/span>, for a total of 29 working hours each week. Occasionally the employee will be asked to work outside of these <\/span>hours,<span style=\"color: #000000\"> and is entitled to time off in lieu. Lunch is from <span class=\"aBn\"><span class=\"aQJ\">12pm to 1pm<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\">The employee is entitled to ten days of paid leave in the first year of the contract, and eleven days in the second year.
