We support middle school and high school students to continue their education and graduate. Furthermore, we support and encourage high students and adults to enroll <span class=\"aBn\"><span class=\"aQJ\">in 4-year\u00a0<\/span><\/span>institutions. ETS is committed to creating supportive relationships with students and providing safe environments for students to grow personally and academically. These participants will fulfill the eligibility criteria as set by the U.S. DOE for all Talent Search Projects. For more details about ETS\u00a0visit:<\/span> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jcyccollegeaccess.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.jcyccollegeaccess.org<\/a><span style=\"color: #000000\"> or<\/span> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jcyc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.jcyc.org<\/a><span style=\"color: #000000\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">SUPERVISORS: Tyla Brown, Associate Director and Emalyn Lapus, Director of College Access Programs<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">COMPENSATION:\u00a0$38K annual, full-time 40hrs\/week, non-exempt position; Generous benefits, including full medical, dental, vision, retirement plan, paid vacation and sick; some evenings &amp; weekends required<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">FUNDING SOURCE:<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>U.S. Department of Education (DOE); Continuation of position based on renewal of annual funding<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Direct Service\/Outreach<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Recruit, identify and select participants according to the following eligibility guidelines:<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Low-income according to the U.S. DOE income levels;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Have the potential to be first in their family to attend college;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Interested in pursuing programs of post-secondary education.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Assess and determine participants&#8217; educational needs and academic potential;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Conduct small\/large group presentations and\/or events about college, financial aid and career awareness; Organize and implement educational\/financial aid events such as Cash for College, etc.;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Provide college and financial aid advising to individuals and groups to encourage participants to complete secondary school and enroll in post-secondary schools;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Coordinate and chaperone local\/long-distance field trips (i.e. college campus, cultural events);<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Provide support to target SFUSD high school counseling staff to collaborate school and community events.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Assist participants in applying for admission or re-enrollment to secondary schools and\/or post-secondary schools;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Refer participants to appropriate social service and government agencies;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Advocate and assist participants with college admissions, financial <\/span>aid<span style=\"color: #000000\"> and other community resources.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Administrative<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Maintain and complete participants&#8217; files with all required documents;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Manage a caseload of up to 250 to 300 high school students as defined by program guidelines;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Assist Sr. High School Educational Advisor in the organization, coordination, and\/or implementation of collaborative events with its sister college access programs, UB and SFCAC, and\/or SFUSD<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Other Program Participation<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Participate in community outreach events, college fairs, conferences, and <\/span>trainings<span style=\"color: #000000\">;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Participate in JCYC College Access program meetings, activities, <\/span>committees<span style=\"color: #000000\"> and conferences are required;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Participate in advocacy initiatives prioritized by JCYC;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Support program specific civic engagement activities to ensure participants understand the importance of participating in the democratic process.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">JOB QUALIFICATIONS:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\">\u2022 Bachelor&#8217;s Degree and one or more years working with youth<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\">\u2022 Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
