The Exchange Visitor Sponsorship Advisor serves as an Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) on multiple IIE sponsored programs, provides high-quality customer service to internal clients and reviews back-up documentation.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Essential Functions<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Serves as an ARO, subject to responsibilities set forth in the CFR [22 CFR Part 62] guiding the J Visa. Must be able to make independent decisions in line with the J regulations, IIE&#8217;s and best practices under the guidance of the Responsible Officer (RO) and\/or lead ARO.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Reviews back-up documentation and data entry associated with the issuances of the initial Certificate of Eligibility (DS2019).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Reviews and approve requests from exchange visitors to determine <\/span>eligibility<span style=\"color: #000000\"> of the requested activity within sponsorship category based on Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), determine eligibility and approve Academic Training requests, accomplish Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) Real-Time Interactive (RTI) data entry, and provide required Employment Authorization letters.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Provides training to IIE team members on J regulations, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) requirements, and IIE SEVIS systems; establish the standard for IIE&#8217;s J sponsorship; interpret regulations and disseminate Department of State regulatory and DHS SEVIS information to IIE team members.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">May be asked to work on special projects such as, but not limited to, process improvements, <\/span>training<span style=\"color: #000000\"> and other IIE projects.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Education and Experience<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Bachelor&#8217;s degree in order to apply a working knowledge of the theories and principles in a specialized field or work discipline.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Requires at least two years of related work experience.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Job Requirements<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">High level of understanding of J regulations, SEVIS and responsibilities of an ARO.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">High level of attention to details and strong organizational skills.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Strong adaptability skills and ability to demonstrate flexibility in dealing with challenging circumstances, or adjust to changing priorities, in order to meet job requirements and deadlines.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with others in a warm, friendly and supportive manner, creating a climate of trust, consideration and mutual respect.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Ability to maintain and build strong relationships with team members and external stakeholders.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Ability to maintain and build strong relationships with team members and external stakeholders.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Proficiency with using Microsoft Office 2010, the internet, and database software.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Highly adept collaboration skills to work effectively with others in order to achieve meaningful results.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Must be a citizen or legal permanent resident of the U.S., as required by the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Work Conditions &amp; Physical Demands<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Essential functions are performed in a general office setting with low noise.
