This\u00a0includes children\u2019s activities at our annual festivals, special events, teacher development workshops, Family Fun\u00a0Days, and our Summer Tour Plus program. The position requires a creative, dynamic and hands-on individual. The\u00a0person must be able to work weekends and evening events.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Position Reports to:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Curator of Education<!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Specific Responsibilities and Duties:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Create and implement museum educational programs for children and families.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Coordinate and implement all necessary aspects of programs to ensure success and efficiency (pre-, day-of, and post-program) of set-up and breakdown.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Develop, implement, and manage outreach programs for both students and adults.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Develop, create, and coordinate children\u2019s (K-12) activities at our annual festivals and special event days,\u00a0including the supervision of volunteers and managing setup and cleanup.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Develop, implement, and oversee the Summer Tour Plus (STP) program activities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Supervise daily operations of STP, which also includes training and scheduling of interns and high school\u00a0volunteers for the STP program.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Work with Education Staff in developing, creating, preparing and implementing programs for public and\u00a0private school collaborations and teacher development workshops.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Manage the organization and inventory of the Education Department\u2019s program supplies and\u00a0replacement of various educational materials in the Yamato-kan exhibits when necessary.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Work in conjunction with education staff to develop educational teaching materials and tour program\u00a0contents<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Keep accurate monthly attendance and fiscal reports for all children\u2019s programs, STP program, school\u00a0collaborations, and outreach programs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">And other duties as specified<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">A Bachelor\u2019s degree in education, Japanese studies, Asian studies, or related field preferred<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Must have knowledge of Japanese language and culture.
