Other duties may be assigned.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Monitor and update HR policies and procedures, develop new or revised policies as needed, and communicate information and guidelines to employees as appropriate. Provide guidance to managers on <\/span>interpretation<span style=\"color: #000000\"> of policy and procedures.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Provide advice and direction in the investigation and resolution of employee relations issues, including employee grievances and discipline.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations, such as EEO, FLSA, FMLA, COBRA, ADA, ACA, and Workers Compensation. Stay current on law changes that affect human resources and advise management on needed actions as changes occur.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Provide guidance to managers on employee performance and development. Work closely with managers to provide feedback and counseling to employees on work performance issues and expectations.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Direct annual performance appraisal process, ensuring employees are appraised fairly and in accordance with JS policies and procedures.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Develop and implement cost effective and timely recruitment strategies. Review resumes, interview and refer candidates, extend and negotiate job offers. Procure interns and temps.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Prepare internal communications encompassing changes and activities in the workplace, such as new hire announcements, workplace initiatives, time and attendance notices.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Administer health and welfare benefits, including group health, life insurance, pension, disability, etc. Maintain records and prepare communications on benefit program initiatives, options, and changes.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Work closely with insurance brokers to develop and maintain <\/span>cost effective<span style=\"color: #000000\"> benefits programs, prepare reports and supply data for brokers and vendors as needed.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Work closely with the VP of Finance and Admin on staff compensation issues, including annual salary increases and budget preparation. Analyze compensation data to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness, and make recommendations as needed.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Provide strategic counsel to senior management on all matters affecting employees, including organizational reductions-in-force and change management.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Supervise and work closely with the Payroll Manager on all HR\/payroll matters, including ensuring appropriate record retention and payroll deductions.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Maintain and update all confidential personnel records and benefit files.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Bachelor&#8217;s degree and a minimum of seven to ten years related experience, with a demonstrated record of progressive professional growth and leadership, preferably gained in the non-profit sector. Must possess <\/span>in depth<span style=\"color: #000000\"> knowledge of all aspects of Human Resources issues, functions and activities, including compensation and <\/span>benefit<span style=\"color: #000000\"> administration, recruiting, training and development, employee communications, negotiation and conflict management. Must work well with all levels of staff, and with individuals of diverse backgrounds, in a collaborative, tactful, and collegial fashion.
