Nihonmachi Little Friends (NLF) is a private, nonprofit community based childcare organization in operation since October 1975.\u00a0\u00a0NLF provides affordable Japanese bilingual, multicultural and educational programs for preschoolers through school-age (K-5th<\/sup>\u00a0gr.) children in full day and after school programs.\u00a0\u00a0Families served represent a broad range of socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds.<\/span><\/p>\n

Preschool teaching position in a Japanese bilingual, multicultural and community-based setting.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Plan and conduct project-based, age-appropriate small and large group activities; supervise children both indoors and outdoors; plan and lead large group music period; maintain classroom; work closely with other teaching staff in a team-teaching work situation; and work with parents and staff in the extracurricular activities of the program.<\/span><\/p>\n

Job Location:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a02031 Bush Street, San Francisco (Japantown\/Lower Pacific Heights)<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Hours\/Days:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Monday<\/span>–Friday<\/span>, 8 hours per day, year-round<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Pay Rate:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0Commensurate with experience and education.\u00a0\u00a0Full health benefits are provided after a successful 3 month introductory period.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Qualifications:<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Previous experience working with young children in a large group setting is required.\u00a0\u00a0BA in related field and educational background in early childhood education is strongly recommended.\u00a0\u00a0Japanese language ability is preferred, but not required.\u00a0\u00a0Flexibility and ability to work well in a close team of teachers is a must.<\/span><\/p>\n
