Policy Program seeks an intern to help with various program tasks for Fall 2016 (August \u2013 December).\u00a0The Business &amp; Policy Program hosts unique public and private programs and networking opportunities for the international business and policy community, which promote reciprocal exchange and deep engagement on issues that define U.S.-Japan relations within a global context.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Learning Opportunities:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Learn firsthand about issues that are of interest and relevance to the U.S.-Japan business and policy communities in New York<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Discover how non-profit organizations interact with corporate sponsors<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Gain experience in the back-office tasks of ongoing program development and execution<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Interact with senior business executives from global corporations and policy leaders<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Conduct research on companies, individuals and industry sectors as needed<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Learn database management<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Duties &amp; Tasks:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Assist with program registrations<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Handle and replenish sponsor materials<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Become familiar with corporate member firms and the benefits of corporate membership<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Assist Program staff at public events, including reception and registration, event A\/V tasks, setup and breakdown<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Assist with program research and outreach as needed<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Assist to create badges, guest lists, name plates, and other program materials<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Maintain and update corporate membership records in Raiser\u2019s Edge as needed<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Organize files and materials on programs and speakers<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Interest in or knowledge of Japanese language and customs<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Interest in and knowledge of international business and international policy especially with regards to Japan<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Superior organizational skills, including ability to keep track of many details at once<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Ability to work with a variety of people and different projects<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Superior writing and oral skills<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Flexibility in hours<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Ability to be self-starter<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">This is an unpaid internship.
