The New York bureau covers news from the US, Canada, and Latin America, with topics ranging from social and economic to political issues, as well as foreign affairs and the United Nations.\u00a0Start date is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">July 1, 2016<\/span>.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Position Responsibilities<\/strong>\u00a0(include, but are not limited to):<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Monitoring and researching social, economic, political and foreign affairs news in the U.S. and Latin America<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Coordinating, executing, and transcribing interviews for both short and long-term projects<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Gathering news articles and related data<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Attending news briefings and covering developments at the United Nations<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Organizing logistics for and attending business trips, at times on minimal notice and\/or on weekends<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Some administrative tasks<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Qualificati<span style=\"color: #000000\">ons:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>We are looking for a resourceful, flexible, and motivated individual with excellent communication skills and attention to detail who can efficiently handle multiple tasks on varying deadlines.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Candidates must have a Bachelor\u2019s Degree and native level English fluency. Japanese proficiency is also required as the primary language spoken in our office is Japanese. Spanish language skills, a background in journalism and familiarity with economics, particularly financial markets, are strongly preferred.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Compensation:\u00a0<\/strong>We offer a salary of $41,280, comprehensive health and dental insurance, and transportation and cellular plan reimbursement.
