Programming is designed to inform and to provide a gateway through which Americans can appreciate the global influence of Japan\u2019s culture and its many trend-defining artisans. Our programs bring together experts and practitioners for provocative discussions on diverse topics including aesthetics, consumer culture and cuisine.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Learning Opportunities:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Learn firsthand about the people, issues and cultural trends that are of interest and relevance to Japanese and Japan enthusiasts in New York<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Discover how non-profit organizations are structured and run from day to day<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Gain experience in the back-office tasks of ongoing program development and execution<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Conduct research on current cultural trends and leading artists as needed<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Learn social media management and event marketing<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Duties &amp; Tasks:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Use creativity to create innovative event promotion &amp; outreach campaigns<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Help manage the Lecture Program\u2019s social media presence<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Assist program staff at public events, including reception and will call table<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Assist with program research as needed<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Organize files and materials on programs and speakers<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">General tasks and office duties<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Interest in and knowledge of Japanese pop culture and cultural trends<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (image and publishing software is a plus)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Superior organizational skills, including ability to keep track of many details at once<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\"> Ability to work with a variety of people and different projects<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Superior writing and oral skills<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\"> \u00a0Familiarity with Japanese language and customs is a plus<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">A self-starter and innovative<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">This is an unpaid internship.
