Its Social Services Department seeks to immediately fill the following position.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0The Intake &amp; Volunteer Coordinatoroversees the first point of contact for community members and others seeking social services. As such, the Intake &amp; Volunteer coordinator is responsible for engaging the public and conveying a warm and professional feeling. He\/she must be knowledgeable and have excellent people skills. Since the nature of people&#8217;s inquiries can vary greatly, he\/she must be detail-oriented, exercise good independent judgment, and enjoy problem-solving. He\/she must be able to work with a diverse staff and array of programs, as well as be flexible and take initiative when appropriate.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b style=\"color: #000000\">Duties and Responsibilities:\u00a0<\/b>Connect the public with the information and services they need.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Attend to the inquiries of callers, walk-ins, and other requests via email, mail, fax, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Assess needs of clients through active listening and dialogue.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Provide appropriate information regarding resources at LTSC and in the broader community.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Research and maintain current information on resources and programs relevant to target populations.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Follow up with clients as needed.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Manage the Social Services Department&#8217;s Intake and Reception area.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Build a functional work environment that projects a welcoming atmosphere for visitors and promotes efficient service delivery by staff.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Coordinate with staff to make appropriate referrals to internal programs and connect people to external resources.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Oversee the work and schedules of Reception volunteers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Manage a system to track inquiries and referrals, and collect data for contract reporting purposes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Analyze intake data, identify trends, and prepare reports.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Coordinate volunteer resources to support the agency&#8217;s overall Social Services work.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Work with department staff to identify programs and tasks that could benefit from volunteers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Recruit and screen volunteers with diverse backgrounds and skills to meet various program needs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Oversee volunteer training.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Match trained volunteers with appropriate assignments.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Create and implement volunteer development, appreciation and retention initiatives.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Other duties as an employee of the Social Services Department and of the agency.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Qualifications and Experiences:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Bachelors degree in Social Work, Sociology, or related field; OR<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Two years of experience in social services, community organizing, volunteer coordination, etc.;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Effective communication skills in English and Japanese;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000\">Ability to problem-solve and work both independently and in teams.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Application:\u00a0<\/b>Please submit inquiries, cover letters and r\u00e9sum\u00e9s to\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff\" href=\"mailto:SocialServices@LTSC.org?is_application_link=y\">SocialServices@LTSC.org<\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Posted by\u00a0Sydney Sparrow,\u00a0curriculum and\u00a0content developer for a\u00a0real estate school\u00a0based in Virginia.\u00a0Click here\u00a0to join\u00a0the\u00a0JETwit Jobs Google Group\u00a0and receive job listings\u00a0even sooner\u00a0by email.
