Mary<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\"><em><strong>Locati<\/strong><strong>on:<\/strong>\u00a0Williamsburg, VA<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\"><em><strong>Contract:<\/strong>\u00a0Full-Time\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">The Global Education Advisor focuses on managing most of W&amp;M\u2019s semester study abroad programs including exchange programs, advising students on study abroad options, overseeing the peer advisor programs, managing the transfer credit process and serving as a second contact for visiting international student support.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">The Global Education Advisor will manage and advise a portfolio of exchange and sponsored semester programs and study abroad options under the guidance of the Associate Director Global Education Programs, oversee the peer advisor program, manage the transfer credit process and serve as a secondary support contact for approximately 40 visiting international students for the Assistant Director Student Experience.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Required Qualifications:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Bachelor\u2019s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Outstanding written and oral communication skills; <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Demonstrated strong organizational skills; <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Excellent computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, database, basic web editing and content management); <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Demonstrated ability to work well with students, staff, and faculty;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"> Knowledge of and experience with cross-cultural issues; <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Demonstrated ability to work independently and cooperatively;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Preferred Qualifications:<\/strong> In-depth knowledge or experience in one of the following areas: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Evaluation and processing of foreign transfer credits; <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Cross-cultural training or experience; <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Experience living abroad;
