Overview:<\/strong>\u00a0La Comunidad Que Construimos is a non-profit in Trujillo, Peru, that\u00a0focuses on youth leadership by conducting self-esteem programming and\u00a0giving the Young Leaders in our program a positive self image that is\u00a0needed for them to take control of their own futures. We believe ending\u00a0poverty starts with empowerment. In our Young Leaders Program, kids become\u00a0teachers who instruct foreign volunteers in Peruvian history and custom,\u00a0making them proud of who they are by taking pride in where they are from.<\/span><\/p>\n

We are looking for a Program Coordinator to support our Director of\u00a0Programs to plan and facilitate our Young Leaders Program. The description\u00a0of the position is below.<\/span><\/p>\n

Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Assist Program Director with daily program execution (i.e. help\u00a0managing large group of kids, provide translation for non-Spanish speaking\u00a0volunteers)<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Assist volunteers in their preparation to teach in the program (i.e.\u00a0help them purchase necessary supplies)<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Network with and recruit local experts to speak in the program on\u00a0cultural themes<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Coordinate monthly field trips based on cultural themes<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Track program metrics of children’s self-esteem to measure program\u00a0effectiveness<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Required Qualifications:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Experience in event planning and\/or coordination<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Experience and interest in working with some really great kids<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Working knowledge of developmental psychology, specifically the\u00a0Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale<\/span><\/li>\n
    4. Spanish-language skills that are conversational or better<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Optional Qualifications:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Is fluent in Spanish – Conversational<\/span><\/li>\n
      2. Has experience in program evaluation<\/span><\/li>\n
      3. Has lived or worked internationally, particularly in a Latin American\u00a0country<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
