Would you like to be part of a dynamic team within a pioneering post-production\/broadcast environment?<\/span><\/p>\n

As Broadcast Coordinator Team Leader you will play a vital role in ensuring the overall success of the Japanese Service of BBC World News including Video On Demand and other video streaming projects.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The role centres on the day to day running of the Japanese studio in Tokyo, while reporting to the London based Operations Manager. In addition to key duties such as monitoring of Japanese audio output and operation of broadcast systems the Team Leader is responsible for investigating and reporting on broadcast issues as well as local staff coordination and developing new projects.<\/span><\/p>\n

Out of hours response for broadcast and operational issues is required for this role.<\/span><\/p>\n

Personal Skills<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

  • Bilingual Japanese \/ English language ability<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Excellent organisational, analytical and problem solving skills<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Superb attention to detail<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Must be punctual, able to manage own time, conduct several tasks simultaneously and work to tight\u00a0deadlines<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Confident and pro-active<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Managerial experience or training<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Knowledge and Experience<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    • The ability to work well under pressure and use your own initiative<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Previous experience in a broadcast or similar media environment\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Previous experience of managing a small team of people<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Technical competence and comfortable with new technology and software<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Have lived in Japan for 2+ years<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Applicants must have the right to work in Japan<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
