About the JET Program and the JET Program Office:
\nThe JET Program seeks to help enhance internationalization in Japan by promoting mutual understanding between Japan and other nations. The program aims to enhance foreign language education in Japan, and to promote international exchange at the local level through fostering ties between Japanese youth and foreign youth. The JET Program Office at the Embassy of Japan is responsible for the application and selection process for U.S. candidates as well as orientation and training for participants selected from the DC-MD-VA area.<\/p>\n

About the Position
\nTitle: JET Program Coordinator
\nSalary: Commensurate with experience; call JET Office for details<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Duties:
\nThe JET Program Coordinator is responsible for the general management of the JET Program under the supervision of the Education Counselor and the JET Program Coordinators.
\nThe duties of the position may include:
\n\u2022Promoting the JET Program through recruiting events such as career fairs and information sessions and managing the online media presence
\n\u2022Implementing the application and responding to applicant inquiries
\n\u2022Coordinating the application review process including communication with the committee of reviewers
\n\u2022Organizing events such as information sessions, attendance at career fairs, orientations and training, receptions, or events sponsored by the JET Alumni Association (JETAA)
\n\u2022Creating surveys and providing statistical analysis at the various stages of the selection process
\n\u2022Other projects as assigned by the Education Counselor or JET Program Coordinators<\/p>\n

Required Qualifications:
\n\u2022U.S. citizenship or green card
\n\u2022Bachelor\u2019s degree
\n\u2022Strong English language speaking and writing skills
\n\u2022Excellent organizational skills and people skills
\n\u2022Standard computer skills–Internet, E-mail, Microsoft Office suite<\/p>\n

Desired Qualifications:
\n\u2022Knowledge of and\/or experience with the JET Program
\n\u2022Knowledge of and\/or experience with international exchange programs
\n\u2022Knowledge of and\/or experience with Dreamweaver, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop
\n\u2022Japanese language ability<\/p>\n
