If interested in more job listings,\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/groups.google.com\/forum\/?hl=en&amp;fromgroups#%21forum\/jetwitjobs\" target=\"_blank\"><em>join<\/em><\/a><em> the JETwit Jobs Google Group and receive job listings even sooner by email.<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<div class=\"G3J0AAD-gd-a\">\n<div class=\"G3J0AAD-lb-P\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>Please find below an announcement for a new position in Wesleyan University\u2019s Center for Global Studies.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>TITLE:<\/p>\n<p>Associate Director of Fellowships, Internships, and Exchanges<\/p>\n<p>DEPARTMENT:<\/p>\n<p>The Center for Global Studies<\/p>\n<p>POSITION DETAILS:<\/p>\n<p>Reporting to the Director of the Center for Global Studies, the Associate Director has primary responsibility for identifying, promoting, and managing international fellowships, internships, and exchange opportunities for Wesleyan undergraduates, recent alumni, and faculty.<br \/>\nThe Center for Global Studies is a new unit that integrates the Office of Study Abroad, the Language Resource Center, and academic and faculty development in the area of global studies (including the International Relations Certificate) in order to foster creativity and intellectual growth through cooperative work by staff, faculty, and students.<br \/>\nThe Associate Director will develop this key range of opportunities for the purpose of advancing Wesleyan\u2019s global studies objectives.\u00a0 He or she shall do so by providing strategic support to the Wesleyan faculty and administration and by working closely with staff colleagues, with academic departments and programs, with students, and with colleagues at partner institutions. Some travel expected.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Assist students in availing themselves of fellowship, internship, and exchange opportunities and advise them regarding the relevance of these opportunities to their specific interests and abilities; recruit and cultivate viable candidates for competitive options.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Coordinate and oversee the international fellowship application processes for the range of programs for which Wesleyan students regularly apply, including but not limited to the Rhodes, Marshall, Fulbright, Luce, and Watson fellowships.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Assess, develop, and coordinate internship opportunities abroad.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Oversee the academic internship credit-granting process.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Assess, develop, and coordinate undergraduate, graduate student, and faculty exchange opportunities with global partner institutions.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Develop and implement a comprehensive program of international fellowship, internship, and exchange informational meetings and workshops.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Work closely with the Career Center, the Allbritton Center for the Study of Public Life, the Patricelli Center for Social Entrepreneurship, University Relations, the Wesleyan Alumni Association and other partners in coordinating internship information, including taking a lead in developing a combined information-sharing system.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Interact as needed with other administrative offices, such as Student Affairs, the Registrar, and Financial Aid.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Maintain and develop the relevant sections of the Center for Global Studies web site.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Participate in networks of relevant professional organizations in order to further Wesleyan\u2019s global interests and to represent Wesleyan in the professional community.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Act as a key member of Wesleyan\u2019s risk management team, to include emergency response and mitigation activities and develop emergency action plans.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Perform similar duties and carry out related responsibilities as necessary.<\/p>\n<p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:<\/p>\n<p>Bachelor\u2019s degree and three-plus years relevant experience in a similar program or setting or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience<br \/>\nDemonstrated knowledge of MS office, web, and social media technologies.<\/p>\n<p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:<\/p>\n<p>Master\u2019s degree in relevant discipline.\u00a0\u00a0 Work experience in an academic setting.\u00a0 Experience in international program management.\u00a0 Experience in advising students.\u00a0 Experience in running fellowship processes.
