By promoting people-to-people relationships through its innovative programs in networking and leadership, the Council serves as a catalyst to inspire and engage Japanese and Americans of all generations. It develops the next generation of leaders committed to a vibrant and dynamic relationship. The Council is headquartered in Washington, D.C. with offices in Los Angeles and Tokyo. We are currently searching for a Digital Communications Specialist in the Washington, DC office.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Write and create engaging content including short videos interviews, motion-graphic pieces, topical articles and more for the website and bi-monthly e-newsletters.<\/li>\n<li>Improving web presence through engaging visuals and layout, supported by tools like Google Analytics to assess and improve user experience.<\/li>\n<li>Manage the back-end of the Council&#8217;s public website including the Content Management System (CMS), domain names, CSS, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Manage the back-end of<a style=\"color: #0080cc\" href=\"http:\/\/salesforce.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external\">[[http:<em>salesforce.com|salesforce.com<\/em><\/a>]].<\/li>\n<li>Develop and execute a social media marketing strategy across the Council&#8217;s Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts and carefully monitor analytics to measure results.<\/li>\n<li>Create online event registration and donation pages and administer online surveys.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and implement A\/V and social media plans to support programs and events, including multi-day, off-site conferences.<\/li>\n<li>Manage all photography and videography including photographing events, contracting professional photographers\/videographers for the Annual Conference, coordinating photography at regional USJC events and editing and uploading all photos to the Council&#8217;s online galleries.<\/li>\n<li>Manage merchandise and signage for organization<\/li>\n<li>Support communications and marketing efforts related to the TOMODACHI Initiative.<\/li>\n<li>Provide basic software program training to staff as needed (e.g. \u2013 Dropbox, NationBuilder, salesforce) and evaluate and purchase new software programs as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Design Annual Report and Conference Program; create graphics, logos, style sheets, fliers, invitations, fact sheets and more.<\/li>\n<li>Provide general support for tech matters to the USJC staff, including those based in Tokyo and Los Angeles.<\/li>\n<li>Introducing new software solutions to support communications, programs, event planning, development, and membership management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2-3 years media\/communications\/web experience<\/li>\n<li>A Bachelor&#8217;s degree in digital communications, IT or other related field<\/li>\n<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Expertise in creating content for online media including web sites, videos, infographics, photography, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Web content development skills: Basic HTML, CSS; experience publishing and updating web content using Content Management Systems (CMS)<\/li>\n<li>Experience using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other social media platforms for professional purposes<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of web and social media measurement and analytics<\/li>\n<li>Experience creating e-newsletters using programs such as NationBuilder, Constant Contact, Mailchimp, Wired for Change or Vertical Response<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft Office and Google application skills (Word, Excel, Publisher, Google documents, analytics, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>Experience with graphic design software such as Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Publisher<\/li>\n<li>Experience with online databases (preferred)<\/li>\n<li>Interest in and experience with U.S.-Japan relations (preferred)<\/li>\n<li>Fluent written Japanese (preferred)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to apply:<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"box-Howtoapply\" class=\"box widget act  opened\">\n<div class=\"body\">\n<div id=\"listing-instructions\" class=\"creole2html formattedText\">\n<p>Candidates should provide a cover letter, resume and 2-3 professional references to\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0080cc\" href=\"mailto:hr@usjapancouncil.org\">hr@usjapancouncil.org<\/a>.
