Job Description:<\/strong> Reporting to the Director of International Programs, the Off-Campus Study Coordinator is responsible for administering semester-long and short-term faculty-led off-campus study programs. The position is also responsible for advising students throughout all stages of the off-campus study cycle.<\/p>\n

Essential Functions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Administers a portfolio of international and domestic study groups and extended study programs, ensuring compliance with university travel policies and professional standards of good practice for education abroad.<\/p>\n

– Assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of faculty-led programs in collaboration with faculty members, which includes such duties as: travel, visa and lodging coordination, communications with partner universities and organizations;expense management; and coordination of pre-departure programs and re-entry activities.<\/p>\n

– Advises students throughout the study abroad process through individual and\/or group meetings; assists students with the selection of off-campus study programs, identification of learning objectives, and application process; refers students to appropriate departments and resources for further assistance.<\/p>\n

– Responds to student, faculty, parent, staff inquires regarding Colgate-sponsored and approved off-campus study programs, policies and procedures.<\/p>\n

– Manages assigned projects and leads team members to meet established goals.-Performs other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n

Qualifications:<\/strong> – Bachelor’s degree plus two years’ experience in education abroad or a combination of education and experience from which comparable skills are acquired.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

– Experience using Microsoft Excel to manage budgets and track expenditures.<\/p>\n

– Prior experience studying or living abroad required.<\/p>\n

– Must possess an attention to detail, exceptional organization, and strong time management skills.<\/p>\n

– Must possess advanced writing and public speaking skills and be able to clearly articulate the values of off-campus study and a liberal arts education.<\/p>\n

– Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in dealing with sensitive materials.<\/p>\n

– Demonstrated ability to effectively manage projects and lead team members to meet established goals.<\/p>\n

-Must be able to demonstrate the skill, flexibility, and comfort with ambiguity that are necessary to successfully navigate differing cultural systems and norms.-<\/p>\n

Occasional evening and weekend work required.<\/p>\n

– Must be capable of working collegially with a diverse group of faculty, staff and students on a daily basis.<\/p>\n

Additional Preferred Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Master’s degree plus experience coordinating faculty-led programs abroad preferred. One year’s experience in academic or education abroad advising and proficiency in a second language are highly desirable.<\/p>\n

– The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who requires minimal direction to achieve goals and who enjoys being part of a fast-paced, collaborative team.<\/p>\n
