Nippon Express is a Freight Forwarding Company and has recently acquired increased Import business. This increase in business will require an additional person to our team. This new full time position will be Exempt with the title of Specialist I, This position will do the required data entry, customer service to ensure the shipments are received in a timely manner. This position will require the employee to follow the business after hours. We will offer this position between $35,000 – $38,000 based on experience. This position prefers a Japanese speaker and related work experience.\u00a0<\/span>

Based on retained knowledge and proven experience, responsible for the handling of non-routine, sophisticated and complex shipping transactions and shipments for high profile customers; and handling of routine shipments and general department support as required or assigned.<\/span><\/p>\n

Essential Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n

A.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 40%\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Analyze complex facts and efficiently handle multiple and fast-changing<\/p>\n

priorities under tight deadlines with little direction; prepare documents for non-routine and complex shipments, with accuracy, precision and attention to details, and high quality customer satisfaction.<\/p>\n

B.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 20%\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Communicate effectively by demonstrating professionalism, courtesy and respect<\/p>\n

in all interactions with internal departments (warehouse, sales, operations, etc.), other branches, and external contacts (U.S. Customs, Government agencies, air\/ocean carriers and ports, trucking and rail companies, vendors or subcontractors).\u00a0 Obtain information needed to resolve shipping delays, entry or release issues, and coordinate activities of various entities from shipment to delivery to properly service customers.<\/p>\n

C.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 20%\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Coordinate timely pick up and delivery orders with trucking companies and piers.<\/p>\n

D.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 10%\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Provide excellent customer service through professional, direct customer contact.<\/p>\n

Obtain additional information for correct classification and entries (Brokerage).<\/p>\n

E. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 5%\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Provide training to lower level employees as required;\u00a0 Generate PARS and<\/p>\n

CARS to improve operations and customer service, and handle other ISO<\/p>\n

responsibilities including audits (if location is ISO certified).<\/p>\n

Minimum Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. College Degree or significant, relevant or appropriate working experience.<\/li>\n
  2. Demonstrates expert knowledge in all functional or operational aspects of the specific department.<\/li>\n
  3. Perfer Japanese speaker<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
