This includes activities such as developing leads and working with prospective students through the entire admissions process; developing relationships with other organizations in the U.S. and abroad; creating and editing marketing materials; evaluating ROI for strategic recruiting initiatives and working with international agents.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\n<strong>Primary Accountabilities<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022Conducts student appointments to identify students&#8217; educational goals and gives course and program information to potential students. This includes advising potential students with respect to enrollment, transfer policy of previous college credits earned, degree program options, admissions requirements, and providing information on university policies, practices and rules.<br \/>\n\u2022Assists potential students in understanding their financial obligations while partnering with the financial aid office. Informs the student of appropriate time and program commitments while helping them identify available options to develop a personalized education plan for success.<br \/>\n\u2022Uses professional knowledge and perspective to relate to new and potential students to establish professional rapport and add to the student experience.<br \/>\n\u2022Provides effective communication with potential via telephone, email, in person or live chat. Utilizes critical thinking and problem solving skills to address and resolve student issues and ensure positive student experience. Addresses potential student concerns and seeks appropriate resolution to potential problems.<br \/>\n\u2022Assists the student by performing appropriate follow up and coordination with team members. This includes working with employees in a team environment and providing accurate student information and assistance to other team members in and\/or outside of their assigned area.<br \/>\n\u2022Demonstrates personal and professional integrity as outlined in the SIU Code of Business Ethics.<br \/>\n\u2022Assists students in making informed decisions by providing ethical, timely, accurate, and comprehensive enrollment options and program information.<br \/>\n\u2022Is proactive in identifying potential barriers within the student enrollment process and initiates steps resulting in resolution.<br \/>\n\u2022Displays public support and pride in company initiatives, assists others in seeing the positive aspects of a new initiative and is seen by other members of team as a positive influence.<br \/>\n\u2022Assists with additional work duties or responsibilities as evident or required<br \/>\n\u2022Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.<\/p>\n<p>Knowledge Skills &amp; Abilities<br \/>\nBasic Qualifications:<br \/>\nA Bachelor&#8217;s degree is required from an accredited\/recognized institution.<\/p>\n<p>Additional Qualifications:<br \/>\n\u2022 Possess high level knowledge of the higher education market and industry<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience and knowledge of cultures and expertise in working with other cultures and backgrounds.<br \/>\n\u2022 Possess high level understanding of business programs of study.<br \/>\n\u2022 Must be student and advisor oriented and have the ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.<br \/>\n\u2022 Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to adapt to a fast paced work environment and with diverse populations.<br \/>\n\u2022 Customer service or advising experience in an educational environment entailing one on one interaction is highly preferred<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, especially cross-culturally<br \/>\n\u2022 Must have an excellent command of professional presentation skills and be comfortable presenting to groups both large and small<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability and willingness to travel, in some cases, overnight for long periods of time; requires valid driver\u2019s license and passport<br \/>\n\u2022 Occasional evening and weekend work is required for special events and programming.<br \/>\nMust be self-motivated and be able to work effectively in a team environment<br \/>\n\u2022 Fluency in a second language preferred but not required<\/p>\n<p>Schiller International University is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate against applicants due to race, ethnicity, gender, veteran status, or on the basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Posted by Sean Pavlik (Fukui-ken, 2010-12), International Programs Officer for the DC-based Congressional Study Group on Japan.
