This<br \/>\nincludes managing student recruitment, advising, application, enrollment, and predeparture<br \/>\norientation\u037e global program operations\u037e program budgets and accounting\u037e and program assessment<br \/>\nand evaluation.<!--more--><br \/>\n<strong>Specific Responsibilities:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u00b7 Administration: Coordinates administration and logistics for assigned study abroad programs,<br \/>\nincluding arranging student accommodations, international flights, local transportation, field<br \/>\nexperiences, etc. in partnership with faculty and staff from Northwestern and partner institutions\u037e<br \/>\nManages day to day operations\u037e Ensures that program mission, values, guidelines, policies and<br \/>\nprocedures are implemented and maintained\u037e Reviews processes and recommends changes to<br \/>\nincorporate state of the art technology as appropriate into administrative, recruitment, marketing, and<br \/>\neducational components\u037e Identifies service improvement opportunities that will better enable program<br \/>\nto achieve its goals and objectives\u037e Manages design and development of program databases\u037e<br \/>\ncompiles and analyzes data\u037e prepares reports\u037e Collects and tracks forms and requirements\u037e<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Student Support: Advises students regarding study abroad program selection, admissions,<br \/>\nacademic, and career and development matters\u037e Reads and evaluates admissions files and<br \/>\nparticipates in candidate selection\u037e Interviews and screens applicants\u037e Coordinates orientation<br \/>\nsessions and assists in the production of orientation guides, materials, and other resources\u037e<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Communication, Outreach &amp; Recruitment: Partners with Marketing Communications Manager<br \/>\nto create marketing materials in print and multimedia\u037e Incorporates social media and networking into<br \/>\nprogram aspects as appropriate\u037e Strengthens partnerships with external resources by defining,<br \/>\npromoting and marketing benefits of participation and involvement to the organization\u037e Creates and<br \/>\nnurtures relationships with organizations to develop a network of enthusiastic organizations engaged<br \/>\nvia active participation in the success of program\u037e<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Faculty Support: Supports Northwestern and partner faculty in development and implementation<br \/>\nof program courses, activities, and materials\u037e Arranges faculty travel and accommodations and assists<br \/>\nwith visas\u037e<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Evaluation: May travel to program locations, as needed, to participate in site visits to assess<br \/>\nprogram operations\u037e Observes program sessions and interacts with participants for purpose of gaining<br \/>\nconsumer insight, growing and strengthening program knowledge, and optimizing client satisfaction\u037e<br \/>\nCoordinates the collection, analysis and reporting of required information for surveys, review<br \/>\ndocuments, public information documents, etc.\u037e Analyzes evaluation data from instructors, students,<br \/>\nparticipants, etc. to assist in program development and updates\u037e Implements corrective actions<br \/>\nrequired as a result of surveys or other indicators\u037e<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Budgets &amp; Financial: Participates in budget preparation\u037e Maintains budget and associated<br \/>\nanalysis and reports\u037e Enters individual and summary of transactions into journals and general ledger<br \/>\nor other NU enterprise system\u037e Reviews\u037e ensures approval based on alternatives regarding practice<br \/>\nand policy\u037e analyzes and classifies transactions in accordance with established chart or coding of<br \/>\naccounts\u037e creates new accounts\u037e prepares, processes, reconciles and provides receipts (as<br \/>\nappropriate) for transactions\u037e Processes transfer and appropriation charges and may balance and\/or<br \/>\nclose accounts\u037e Troubleshoots problems\u037e performs vendor\/account research as needed\u037e obtains<br \/>\nadditional information or provides instruction and guidance by phone, US or email from<br \/>\ncustomers\/vendors\u037e corrects or escalates\u037e<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Events: Coordinates programming, educational, student, alumni, workshops, meetings, etc.<br \/>\nincluding speakers, agendas, etc.\u037e Develops plans and arranges meetings, workshops, events, etc.<br \/>\ndesigned to exchange information, promote research objectives, and to build internal and external<br \/>\nrelationships within NU\u037e Ensures that event details including communication, venues, presenters,<br \/>\ntravel arrangements, materials, refreshments and technology are arranged and completed in an<br \/>\nappropriate and timely manner\u037e<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Program Development: Assists the Director and Assistant Director, as needed, in developing<br \/>\nnew customized or facultyled programs in alignment with IPD mission\u037e Manages academic quality and<br \/>\ncontinued growth and expansion\u037e Reviews programs\/projects to increase efficiencies to support<br \/>\ngrowth\u037e Leads program updates and improvements\u037e<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Performs other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:<\/strong><br \/>\nA bachelor\u2019s degree in business, accounting or a related field plus 1 year program<br \/>\nadministration or similar experience\u037e or 3 years program administration or similar experience or<br \/>\nthe equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge<br \/>\nand abilities can be acquired\u037e<br \/>\nDemonstrated ability to successfully manage international initiatives for a student audience<br \/>\nExcellent oral and written communication skills\u037e<br \/>\nExcellent interpersonal skills\u037e<br \/>\nIntermediate knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and database software<br \/>\nprograms\u037e<br \/>\nWell developed organizational skills and the ability to independently prioritize and handle<br \/>\nmultiple tasks, turning general instructions into specific action steps\u037e<br \/>\nAbility to quickly and effortlessly change direction based on new\/changing priorities\u037e<br \/>\nProven problem solving skills and attention to detail.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:<\/strong><br \/>\nA bachelor&#8217;s in international studies, international education, or related field or the equivalent<br \/>\ncombination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can<br \/>\nbe acquired\u037e<br \/>\nA minimum of three years of professional work experience in study abroad and international<br \/>\nprogram management and administration\u037e<br \/>\nPrior experience studying, living, or working abroad\u037e<br \/>\nExperience working with university staff, students, and faculty\u037e<br \/>\nExcellent computer skills, including indepth knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing,<br \/>\ndatabases and presentation software packages\u037e<br \/>\nExperience with Symplicity products\u037e<br \/>\nForeign language skills\u037e<br \/>\nFamiliarity with regional and national education abroad networks and resources\u037e<br \/>\nDemonstrated ability to analyze financial accounts and develop, manage, and monitor budgets.<br \/>\nAs per Northwestern University policy, this position requires a criminal background check.<br \/>\nSuccessful applicants will need to submit to a criminal background check prior to employment.<br \/>\nNorthwestern University is an Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action Employer of all protected classes<br \/>\nincluding veterans and individuals with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>To apply, visit: <a href=\"http:\/\/nuhr.northwestern.edu\/hr91prod_er\/eRecruit_login.html\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/nuhr.northwestern.edu\/hr91prod_er\/eRecruit_login.html<\/a> &#8211;
