The George Mason University Center for Global Education is hiring a Program Officer to administer, manage and promote the university\u2019s study abroad programs.<\/p>\n

Responsibilities:
\nDuties include managing the application, registration, marketing, and administration of study abroad programs. Specific duties include:<\/p>\n

-Establish and maintain contact with appropriate administrative units on campus and universities abroad;
\n-Facilitate student enrollment;
\n-Maintain student records;
\n-Advise on short-term, semester, faculty-led, and internship programs;
\n-Promote and market programs; and create, maintain and publish program materials; and
\n-Liaise with educational institutions abroad, travel vendors, and international organizations.
\n
\nQualifications:
\nThe position requires excellent administrative skills, attention to detail, marketing experience, the ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects, and student advising skills. International experience is a must. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate cross-cultural understanding, and familiarity of U.S. and foreign university structures.<\/p>\n

B.A. or M.A. in international studies, education, foreign language, or a related field is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of an earned degree. Demonstrated administrative experience is required. Background in study abroad, higher education administration, experiential education, or field studies is highly desirable.<\/p>\n
