Founded in 1979, ISEP is a nonprofit membership organization with over 300 partner institutions in 50 countries around the world. ISEP provides exchange and study abroad opportunities to over 3,400 students annually.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary<\/strong><br \/>\nUnder the general supervision of the Director of Africa and Middle East Programs, the Program Associate for Africa serves as program assistant for both the Africa and Asia Pacific Regional teams and provides administrative support for the placement process and program implementation including data entry and processing of online applications. The Program Associate for Africa works jointly with the Regional Director in administering student exchange between U.S. ISEP member institutions and member institutions in Africa and implementing the Africa Region Strategic Plan. The program Associate assists the Regional Director in outreach to designated US members; conducts outreach and engagement activities with students and coordinators for recruitment and retention of applicants.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Principal Accountabilities<\/strong><br \/>\n1) Provides program assistant support for Africa &amp; Asia Pacific Regional Teams<br \/>\n\u2022 Data entry, processing of student applications<br \/>\n\u2022 Corresponding with ISEP coordinators in U.S., Africa, and Asia with regard to outstanding pieces of student applications<br \/>\n\u2022 Entering placements, confirmations and students\u2019 acceptances<br \/>\n\u2022 Mailing of program related materials as necessary<br \/>\n\u2022 Managing student files throughout all stages of placement process and ensuring that student and institutional files contain documentation of significant transactions<\/p>\n<p>2) Under the general supervision of the Director of Africa and Middle East Programs, administers student exchanges between U.S. ISEP member institutions and African members<br \/>\n\u2022 Conducting advising and outreach activities to increase application numbers<br \/>\n\u2022 Responding to inquiries from member institutions regarding content and appropriateness of programs in Africa, availability of space , course description and availability<br \/>\n\u2022 Requesting nomination numbers from African institutions prior to start of application cycle<br \/>\n\u2022 Reviewing applications to &amp; from Africa and placing students at member universities in consultation with Regional Director<br \/>\n\u2022 Following up on outstanding confirmations, making appropriate adjustments, and providing post-placement communication<br \/>\n\u2022 Reviewing and processing of Institutional Information Sheets from African institutions<br \/>\n\u2022 Maintaining support services and following programs and responding to crisis situations<br \/>\n\u2022 Arranging Group Flight for students going to Ghana and sending pre-departure information<br \/>\n\u2022 Training of new coordinators in the U.S and in Africa<\/p>\n<p>3) Works jointly with Director of Africa and Middle East Programs in implementation of the Africa Region Strategic Plan<br \/>\n\u2022 Participating in outreach and engagement to coordinators and students for marketing of ISEP programs in Africa<br \/>\n\u2022 Performing outreach to faculty with interest in Africa<br \/>\n\u2022 Providing input for and reviewing ISEP publications, materials and website information (including Country Handbooks)<br \/>\n\u2022 Reviewing and writing summary reports of program evaluations and implementing appropriate follow-up<br \/>\n\u2022 Researching prospective members in Africa<br \/>\n\u2022 Running statistics on student activity<br \/>\n\u2022 Conducting site visits and participating in professional conferences<\/p>\n<p>4) SEVIS<br \/>\n\u2022 Completes necessary processes and provides necessary documentation for international student academic training<br \/>\n\u2022 Verifying international student information prior to the creation of DS-2019 forms<br \/>\n\u2022 Assisting with obtaining SEVIS documents and making special SEVIS payments for students from Ghana<\/p>\n<p>5) Other Projects related to Annual Plan as assigned<\/p>\n<p>Requirements<br \/>\nEducation: BA\/BS degree<\/p>\n<p>Experience: At least one semester study abroad and\/or living abroad experience (preferably in Africa); 1-2 years of relevant work experience in international organization and\/or higher education office; Familiarity with African continent<\/p>\n<p>Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills; Ability to work and think independently as well as part of team; Ability to handle extensive detail and manage multiple tasks; Knowledge of Microsoft Office systems (Access, Excel, &amp; Power Point); French language fluency preferred; Applicant must have authorization to work in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>If interested, please send resume\/cover letter and salary requirements to\u00a0careers@isep.org.
