We are seeking:<\/p>\n<p>(1) Economics Associate Producer<\/p>\n<p>(1) Foreign Affairs Associate Producer<\/p>\n<p>These entry-level positions are fantastic opportunities for those who are early in their journalism careers \u2013 you won\u2019t get this kind of access anywhere else.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities of the Economics AP will include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Daily coverage of related agencies, including the Treasury Department, the Federal Reserve, the USTR and the IMF<\/li>\n<li>Weekly coverage of economic indicators and reports, such as unemployment numbers and the FOMC minutes<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring breaking US\/international economic news<\/li>\n<li>Attendance at press briefings, policy speeches and think tank events around Washington<\/li>\n<li>Planning and producing feature stories with an eye towards 2016 coverage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities of the Foreign Affairs AP will include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Daily coverage of the Secretary of State\u2019s activities<\/li>\n<li>Following up on major foreign policy-related events and stories,\u00a0particularly those occurring in East Asia<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring breaking US\/international news<\/li>\n<li>Attendance at press briefings, policy speeches and think tank events around Washington<\/li>\n<li>Planning and producing feature stories with an eye towards 2016 coverage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Candidates will need to be very energetic, interested in political and international affairs and have excellent communication and organizational skills. This is not a 9 to 5 job, so the successful candidates should also be prepared to work nights and weekends as needed.\u00a0Most importantly, we are looking for team players who will do their very best to assist our Japanese correspondents, and who are capable of bridging the different cultures between America and Japan. Some experience in international affairs, economics or broadcast news production is required.
