Overview:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Global Living and Learning Programs Advisor (GLLPA) is responsible for<\/span>\u00a0advising and program administration for a portfolio of programs under<\/span>\u00a0his\/her purview, including semester and summer programs at the Georgetown<\/span>\u00a0University Villa le Balze and McGhee Center, and other semester programs in<\/span>\u00a0Turkey and Italy. The GLLPA\u2019s principle responsibilities lie in advising and<\/span>\u00a0selection of student participants, marketing, programming and recruitment,<\/span>\u00a0and program management. The GLLPA serves as a resource for curricular deans<\/span>\u00a0regarding academic questions for universities within his\/her region. The<\/span>\u00a0GLLPA organizes cross-cultural programming for his\/her programs,<\/span>\u00a0communicates with overseas contacts and partner institutions, and resolves<\/span>\u00a0curricular issues in cooperation with students and their curricular deans<\/span>\u00a0and serves on Steering Committees and attends the Program and Policy<\/span>\u00a0Committee and other on-campus committees when necessary. The GLLPA maintains<\/span>\u00a0responsibility for program management and fiscal oversight of programs in<\/span>\u00a0his\/her designated portfolio.\u00a0<\/span>
<\/p>\n

Minimum Qualifications:<\/span><\/strong>
Master\u2019s degree required. Two years minimum experience in study abroad<\/span>\u00a0advising and program management in a university setting; experience studying<\/span>\u00a0and\/or working overseas as it relates to designated program portfolio;<\/span>\u00a0language proficiency in related foreign language and ability to communicate<\/span>\u00a0effectively in one or more foreign languages is strongly preferred;<\/span>\u00a0Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, parents,<\/span>\u00a0faculty and campus administrators. Must have strong written and spoken<\/span>\u00a0communication skills, proven organizational skills, and proven ability to<\/span>\u00a0complete multiple, complex tasks, sometimes under pressure of deadlines.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0Must be familiar with Microsoft office, especially Access databases and<\/span>\u00a0Excel spreadsheets. Knowledge of Banner and StudioAbroad desired.<\/span>\u00a0Familiarity with student development or intercultural development theory<\/span>\u00a0preferred.<\/span><\/p>\n
