JETwit Job Hunter<\/strong><\/a> is a new feature started by<\/em> Autumn Widdoes<\/a> (Okinawa<\/a>-ken 2010-14)<\/strong>.\u00a0 Autumn is a writer with a focus on performance and film who will soon return to the job market herself. She\u2019d like to put her four years of experience in Japan to good use in future employment.<\/em><\/p>\n

WELCOME<\/strong> to the inaugural post of JETwit Job Hunter Profiles<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 The purpose of this project is to:<\/p>\n

  1. Share<\/span> profiles of job-hunting JETs and JET alumni, and<\/li>\n
  2. Invite<\/span> JETwit readers to offer suggestions, advice, and any other help, either by posting in the comments section of this post or by contacting the profiled job hunter directly.<\/li>\n
  3. The goal<\/span> is to help everyone find work and increase the rate of post-JET employment, which in turn will make us an even stronger alumni network and community.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Job Hunter<\/span>:\u00a0 <\/strong>Lauren Carroll<\/a> (Mie<\/a>-ken, 2006-09)\u00a0<\/strong>is a JET alum\u00a0 currently seeking employment in the San Francisco Bay area, though she is also open to employment opportunities in other regions of California, Seattle, Colorado, and New Mexico.<\/p>\n

    Objective<\/span>:<\/strong>\u00a0 To work in a cross-cultural industry<\/strong> that uses or taps into her creative background and skills in the fine arts<\/strong> as well as her interest in Japan<\/strong> and international exchange<\/strong>. She would like \u201cto help new international transplants learn about and adjust to the US\u201d and would like to work with Japanese people who are moving to the USA. She is seeking this type of work without the requirement of fluency in Japanese.<\/p>\n
