When you witness someone in their element, it\u2019s mesmerizing. They have this sort of flow to how they move and deal with other people, projects, and even problems. No way are they flawless, but hey, that term\u2019s reserved for one environment only<\/a>\u2014and it ain\u2019t the career world.<\/p>\n

For a lot of us, we get an extra kick finding out that that<\/em> successful dude? \u00a0They did the JET Program! But for every JET alum who\u2019s found their niche, there\u2019s plenty who\u2019ve taken awhile to find their footing.<\/p>\n

Maybe I\u2019m in that group<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On my latest podcast I shared a story about a time when I was a little over eager to find my place. And the thing is, being overeager isn\u2019t that far off from being desperate (although my co-host is pretty vocal in disagreeing).<\/p>\n

Either way, the messages I want to pass on to JETs who\u2019re still working on that transition to the next stage:<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hang in there, Sinclair.<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If a job offer sounds too good to be true, it\u2019s Scooby-Doo.<\/p>\n

In other words, buyer beware: watch out for job offers that advertise how easy and profitable the work is.<\/p>\n
