The Manager of Alumni Relations will report to the Chief, External Relations, Development and Communications Officer.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>With a proven ability to cultivate, solicit and steward alumni, including donors, and work within a moves management strategy, the Manager of Alumni Relations supports the National Director of Development and Staff for the purposes of establishing and advancing AFS-USA&#8217;s strategies in alumni relations, especially alumni engagement, empowerment, leadership and support.<\/p>\n<p>The Manager of Alumni Relations also provides all logistical oversight for Alumni Relations reunions, signature programs and events; and affinity based alumni groups.<\/p>\n<p>Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Plan, implement and promote alumni outreach initiatives, events and possibly programs that support the organization&#8217;s strategic plan as well as the overall goals of the organization in collaboration with AFS-USA colleagues.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Plan an approach for, and implement, programs and projects that strategically engage alumni in strengthening programs and provide tangible benefits to alumni and current constituents (students, host and natural families, volunteers, etc.).<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Serve as the ambassador charged with securing commitments from alumni to provide professional expertise and volunteer service; collaborating with colleagues in various departments including but not limited to lead management, program operations, volunteer development and resources, development, marketing and communications and other departments.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Create pathways for alumni engagement and participation that advance the goals and mission of the organization; partnering with Development to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward alumni giving.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Liaises with Board of Directors and National Council members, President&#8217;s Circle members, staff, external constituents, advisory committees, major donors, and corporate, foundation and community-based community partners on behalf of the Alumni Relations unit.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Ensure accurate and complete alumni database records, capture contact, biographical and career information of alumni via surveys, projects (e.g. alumni directory), correspondence, social media and networking, website, etc.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Establish and build relationships with a wide range of alumni, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally and maintain communications through direct contact, email blasts, alumni web pages and portals, print publications, blogs and social networking sites, etc.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Educate current participants about alumni benefits and engage them in programs and activities.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Partner with departments to plan the growth and accessibility of career networking services for students and alumni.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Collaborate closely with development colleagues in increasing support from alumni;
