The\u00a0Sheikh\u00a0Mohamed Scholars Program (&#8220;SMSP&#8221;), established in 2008, is a coeducational\u00a0program that offers a select cohort of talented university students unique\u00a0access to specially designed courses, lectures, leadership experiences over\u00a0the course of the academic year, and networking, graduate school\u00a0opportunities and scholarships following graduation from the program. It\u00a0conducts a competitive annual selection process and accepts Scholars from\u00a0among the most outstanding students at the three national UAE universities:\u00a0Zayed University, the United Arab Emirates University, and Higher Colleges\u00a0of Technology. The Scholars Program has been developed in close\u00a0consultation with the Abu Dhabi Education Council, participating\u00a0universities, and New York University Abu Dhabi. The SMSP offers courses\u00a0and enrichment programs that scholars take in addition to their own courses\u00a0of study at their home institutions. The four SMSP courses are: one\u00a0principal academic class (Supreme Court and the Religious Clause OR\u00a0American Foreign Policy), Critical Thinking and Persuasive Writing, and\u00a0Leadership Development and Public Speaking.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The NYUAD Summer Academy, launched in 2011, is a coeducational college\u00a0preparatory\u00a0program designed to enhance the academic profile of highly motivated\u00a0Emirati high school\u00a0students from public and private high schools in Abu Dhabi who are about to\u00a0start their 11th year. The program features intensive instruction in\u00a0Critical Writing and Thinking, Mathematical\u00a0Reasoning, Test Preparation, and Leadership Development and Public Speaking\u00a0over the course of two summers, an intervening academic year, and a final\u00a0semester in the fall of their 12th year. Each summer, students receive\u00a0approximately three weeks of daily instruction at the NYUAD campus before\u00a0traveling to Florence, Italy (1st summer) and New York City (2nd summer)\u00a0for\u00a0approximately ten days of classes and cross-cultural experiences.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong>The NYUAD Community Programs seek a motivated and experienced individual to\u00a0provide\u00a0academic support to the high-school- and college-age students who are\u00a0studying in the Sheikh\u00a0Mohamed bin Zayed Scholars Program and the NYUAD Summer Academy. This\u00a0individual will\u00a0reside in Abu Dhabi year-round and serve as an instructor, academic coach,\u00a0and resource in the\u00a0following ways: leading recitation and enrichment sessions, meeting\u00a0one-on-one with students, and accompanying the SMSP and Summer Academy\u00a0students on international trips.
