Assists in the effective administration and marketing of study abroad and off-campus study programs. Works closely with students in all phases of the study abroad process, including promotion, outreach, advising, orientation and reentry.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n<strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Assists in the coordination and promotion of international programming at the University of Hartford, providing support for study abroad and international students. Acts as the first point of contact for the University\u2019s study abroad program, including semester and short-term programs. Advises students and parents regarding all study abroad and off-campus study program options, opportunities and requirements. Assists students in all related planning in an effort to align the appropriate program and timing with academic goals. Maintains a thorough knowledge of all University and collegiate policies, procedures and practices associated with study abroad programs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>Assists students with the study abroad application process, including financial aid, courses, registration, transcripts, credits and other administrative tasks. Prepares study abroad program registration documents, including but not limited to, program applications, cost sheets, information on passport and visa regulations and pre-departure packets. Conducts required pre-departure meetings for all study abroad students. Processes invoices and student billing for study abroad in a timely manner. Secures transcripts from overseas for appropriate posting of credits earned.<\/p>\n<p>Promotes study abroad and off-campus study programs through print and electronic promotional on-campus advertising, event planning, presentations and social media venues in an effort to increase study abroad awareness and recruitment consistent with University policies and procedures. Develops, coordinates and implements events for study abroad participants and students exploring study abroad options.<\/p>\n<p>Establishes, cultivates and maintains effective relationships with program providers, acting as liaison between the program provider and students on all matters related to the program. Coordinates logistics of the study abroad fair and campus visits by program providers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>Stays abreast of all travel alerts, travel warnings and events abroad that might affect students. Stays in contact with students while they are overseas, providing assistance both during and outside regular business hours as necessary and appropriate.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>Maintains the study abroad library, website content and social networking sites to ensure information is current and comprehensive.
