\"\"<\/a>Mark Frey<\/strong><\/a> (Kumamoto-ken, 2002-06) has served as the Newsletter Editor<\/a> for JETAA Northern California<\/strong><\/a> since 2007.\u00a0 But how did he find himself in this position?\u00a0 And what else do we know about this man who has been entrusted not only with JETAA NC’s news needs but with with responsibility for a small child as well?\u00a0 JETAA Chicago’s<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>Elizabeth Friedman<\/strong><\/a> (profiled in the previous edition<\/a> of Know a Newsletter Editor<\/strong>) decided to get to the bottom of things, and this is what she learned.<\/em><\/p>\n

What\u00a0he does all day at work:<\/strong> Write proposals, dream about Japan<\/strong><\/p>\n

How he found his job:<\/strong> Website for the Society for Marketing Professional Services (professional society for my field of work)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Job he would really like to be doing:<\/strong> Teaching!<\/strong><\/p>\n

First job after JET:<\/strong> Marketing Manager, MIG, Inc.<\/p>\n

How he ended up as the Newsletter Editor:<\/strong> Was asked at a weak moment after about the 5th kanpai<\/em> at a JETAA shinnenkai<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Favorite thing about California:<\/strong> The beautiful nature.<\/strong><\/p>\n

What he misses about Japan:<\/strong> My students, the people in my town, Aso mountain range, Kumamoto tonkotsu ramen<\/em>, onsen<\/em>!<\/strong><\/p>\n

What he does when he needs a Japan fix:<\/strong> Chats with the “master” of Ichiro sushi restaurant, who’s from Kyushu; Any JETAA activity!<\/strong><\/p>\n
