Overview:<\/b><\/p>\n

The Education Associate, working in cooperation with the Education Program team, helps organize, develop and administer programs and websites for families and K-12 teachers and students.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Help with development, administration and promotion of materials on About Japan: A Teacher\u2019s Resource website for K-12 educators.<\/li>\n
  2. Contribute to the development and operation of the Going Global social networking project and Junior Fellows high school exchange program.<\/li>\n
  3. Assist with and participate in Education and Family Programs\u2019 on and off-site programs, including weekends<\/li>\n
  4. Maintain and produce reports on Program budgets and grants<\/li>\n
  5. Coordinate on-site program scheduling as well as logistical arrangements for speakers, presenters and conference participants<\/li>\n
  6. Work with New York City\u2019s Department of Education on professional development courses<\/li>\n
  7. Maintain database and mailing lists for promotional purposes<\/li>\n
  8. Duties as needed for the Programs success<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Bachelors degree and a minimum of one to two years related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.<\/li>\n
    • Knowledge of Japan and an interest in K-12 education are required.<\/li>\n
    • High level of ability to organize, control and report on budgets and grant reports.<\/li>\n
    • Effective communicator in both written and spoken English. Fluency in Japanese a plus.<\/li>\n
    • Proven organizational and administrative skills.<\/li>\n
    • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of WordPress and HTML a plus.<\/li>\n
    • Ability to travel and work on weekends.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
