S\/he is responsible\u00a0for recruitment of students; promotion of programs; management of program\u00a0sites; preparing students for an experience abroad, transferring course\u00a0credit; dealing with student issues; and responding to the needs of\u00a0students, parents, staff and faculty. S\/he is a team player with excellent\u00a0communication skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to be flexible\u00a0as the programs develop. Must be able to multi-task working on several\u00a0projects at a time.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n<strong>Specific Responsibilities: 65%<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Serve as Study Abroad Advisor<\/li>\n<li>Advise students pursuing a study abroad program<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with students, parents, partner institutions, and ISU departments<\/li>\n<li>Aid students in receiving academic credit for their study abroad program<\/li>\n<li>Develop portions of Study Abroad Orientation<\/li>\n<li>Review study abroad applications<\/li>\n<li>Process and maintain study abroad application materials<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with Registrar&#8217;s Office to obtain study abroad course articulations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>*30%*<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in the development of recruitment strategies for the Study Abroad\u00a0Unit<\/li>\n<li>Develop recruitment materials, both paper and digital<\/li>\n<li>Develop informational presentations in conjunction with the Coordinator<\/li>\n<li>Maintain constant campus presence for the Study Abroad Unit<\/li>\n<li>Assist with coordination of Study Abroad Fairs on campus<\/li>\n<li>Deliver Study Abroad Orientation<\/li>\n<li>Participate in study abroad outreach events<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>*5%\u00a0 *<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee receipt of study abroad transcripts<\/li>\n<li>Maintain study abroad program brochure webpages<\/li>\n<li>Other duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<li>Occasional evening and weekend responsibilities, as well as international\u00a0travel, are part of the position.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s Degree<\/li>\n<li>Two (2) years of demonstrated professional work experience in a higher\u00a0education setting<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated superior oral communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated strong administrative competency and organization ability<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated participation in a semester-length or longer study abroad\u00a0program<\/li>\n<li>If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal\u00a0background investigation based on University policy, employment is\u00a0contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background\u00a0investigation.
