Supports programming for IEP (Intensive\u00a0English Program), academic and technical program students as well as\u00a0short term and contract groups.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Logistical planning and implementation of New International Student<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Orientation and Welcome Week every quarter (including Summer quarter):\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Including logistical coordination, communication, and presenting on various\u00a0topics<\/li>\n<li>Create pre-arrival information and materials for incoming students<\/li>\n<li>Maintain an active calendar of events by preparing and hosting activities\u00a0(including but not limited to: co-curricular, cultural, social, volunteer\u00a0opportunities, campus visits) multiple times per month<\/li>\n<li>Implement, direct, and supervise Student Ambassador program<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate with student-led clubs and other campus departments to\u00a0deliver co-sponsored activities<\/li>\n<li>Arrange for new students to be picked up at the airport when they arrive<\/li>\n<li>Act as housing liaison to homestay agencies, updating and searching for\u00a0alternative housing and relating the information to the students when\u00a0needed<\/li>\n<li>Maintain activities budget, including handling receipts, credit card check-out, and handling all paperwork assigned with making purchases, reserving\u00a0rooms for activities at the school, or renting the school vehicles<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate and Implement the Conversation Partner Program<\/li>\n<li>Create and Implement campus-wide programming in celebration of\u00a0International Education Week (once per year)<\/li>\n<li>Provide event-related, coordination, and logistical support for contract\u00a0short term groups<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate and Implement IEP graduation each quarter<\/li>\n<li>Plan graduation reception for graduating International students each\u00a0spring<\/li>\n<li>Continuously maintain and update social media site: facebook, blog, etc<\/li>\n<li>Provide backup coverage for front desk and contribute to a positive and\u00a0welcoming environment for students<\/li>\n<li>Other duties as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Beneficial Abilities\/Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of a second language (besides English) can help, but is not\u00a0required (Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Vietnamese, French)<\/li>\n<li>A Washington State Driver\u2019s License and willingness to drive for events\u00a0is required<\/li>\n<li>Friendly, Creative, and Confident when dealing with groups of people is a plus<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated effectiveness working as part of a team<\/li>\n<li>Available for occasional evening and weekend hours<\/li>\n<li>Ability to problem solve and think quickly on your feet<\/li>\n<li>Experience with campus programming and event planning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Send Resume and Cover letter to:<\/strong><br \/>\nNathan Fanning, Program Coordinator<br \/>\nSouth Seattle Community College<br \/>\n6000 16th Ave SW, Seattle WA 98106-1499 Email:<br \/>\n<a href=\"mailto:nathan.fanning@seattlecolleges.edu\" target=\"_blank\">nathan.fanning@seattlecolleges.edu<\/a>\u00a0phone: (206) 934-5360<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Via JET alum Carleen Ben. \u00a0Posted by\u00a0Jayme Tsutsuse\u00a0(Kyoto-fu, 2013-Present), organizer of\u00a0Cross-Cultural Kansai. \u00a0Click here\u00a0to join the\u00a0JETwit Jobs Google Group\u00a0and receive job listings even sooner by email.
