font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">The Director of Education is responsible for developing and managing comprehensive educational plans (both short and long term) as well as creating and maintaining educational programs that reflect the Museum of Chinese in America\u2019s ( MOCA) mission and meets the needs of the diverse audiences we serve.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Responsibilities<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Work with Executive Director and senior staff to set the vision and goals for the department.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Recruit, train, and supervise museum educators, interns, and volunteers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Develop and implement curriculum-based education programs including on-site guided tours, professional <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">development workshops, and resources.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Plan, develop, implement and evaluate in-school and out-of-school partnership with school teachers, school <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">administrators, and staff at partner community organizations.<!--more--><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Develop and implement public programs for children and families, including family festivals, workshops, <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">performances, and readings.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Work with staff to develop and implement an outreach plan to grow new and repeat attendance to education <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">programs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Market resources and programs to K-12 and teacher audiences.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Prepare reports of education program attendance including narratives when appropriate.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Negotiate and manage contracts with teaching artists and consultants.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Oversee the efforts of any consultants hired to develop educational programs or resources.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Work with Director of Operations to develop and manage all departmental budgets.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Work with development department in preparing, tracking, evaluating, and reporting of all education <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">programming grants.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Qualifications<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Graduate degree in related field (education, museum education, etc.) preferred<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">3 \u2013 5 years of experience and track record in development, implementation, and evaluation of education programming in a museum setting<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Working knowledge of informal learning theory and practice, museum visitor studies, social studies, arts education, and Asian American studies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work with colleagues, trustees, volunteers, and community leaders.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with a diverse range of groups and organizations.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate a team.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial; font-size: small;\">Strong ability to be creative and think critically.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;
