Overview:<\/b><\/p>\n

\n
The Senior Study Abroad Advisor reports to the Study Abroad Director. This person is responsible for advising students on all aspects of study abroad from start to finish.\u00a0 The Senior Study Abroad Advisor is the primary support person for the web-based enrollment and registration-management system, currently Terra Dotta.\u00a0 The Senior Study Abroad Advisor coordinates promotional events and represents the office at meetings and events.<\/div>\n

Job Duties:<\/strong>
\nStudent Advising 50%<\/p>\n
    \n
  • Student recruitment<\/li>\n
  • Advise students on program selection, academics, finances, health and safety, and policies and administration<\/li>\n
  • Application processing and student selection<\/li>\n
  • Prepare students to study abroad through advising and orientation<\/li>\n
  • Maintain contact with students while abroad<\/li>\n
  • Post-return programming<\/li>\n
  • Conduct program assessment<\/li>\n
  • Assist with credit processing<\/li>\n
  • Communicate with financial aid, cashier, registrar, college coordinators, housing & dining, departments and schools, program partners, parents, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Study Abroad Software Support 30%<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Liaising between software host and office<\/li>\n
    • Maintain updates<\/li>\n
    • Supporting users<\/li>\n
    • Evaluating and revising processes<\/li>\n
    • Coordinate upgrades<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Marketing & Outreach 20%<\/p>\n

        \n
      • Participate in campus-wide programming to promote study abroad<\/li>\n
      • Coordinate study abroad events, such as International Education Week sessions, Photo Contest, Study Abroad Fair, etc.<\/li>\n
      • Represent office in campus-wide meetings and events<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Required Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n

          \n
        • 3 years or more working in the field of education abroad.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Preferred Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n

            \n
          • Experience with Terra Dotta study abroad software or similar enrollment and registration-management system.<\/li>\n
          • 3 years or more working in an education abroad office at a university.<\/li>\n
          • Experience living or studying abroad.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Other Skills Required:<\/strong><\/p>\n

              \n
            • Excellent organizational, computer, and oral and written communication skills.<\/li>\n
            • Tact, strong interpersonal skills, independent thinking and decision making, ability to see big picture while also paying attention to detail, ability to prioritize.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
