USF is a high-impact, global research university located in Tampa Bay on Florida&#8217;s west coast. It is one of the largest public universities in the nation, and among the top 50 universities, public or private, for federal research expenditures. The university is one of only four Florida public universities classified by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching in the top tier of research universities.\u00a0 The USF Education Abroad Office, located on the Tampa campus, serves as a system-wide centralized office that supports international education for all USF students.\u00a0 Study Abroad is a key part of the University\u2019s Strategic Plan, and USF has experienced more than a 50% growth in the numbers of students studying abroad in the past 5 years.\u00a0 Recently, USF received the 2013 Senator Paul Simon Award for Campus Internationalization.<\/p>\n<p>For more information and to apply, please go to:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.usf.edu\/about-usf\/work-at-usf.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.usf.edu\/about-usf\/work-at-usf.aspx<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong><i>Positio<\/i><i>n<\/i><em>:\u00a0Education Abroad Advisor (Non-Mediterranean Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<p><b>Overview:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The Education Abroad Program Advisor (Non-Mediterranean Europe &amp; Sub-Saharan Africa) is responsible for international study abroad programming for all academic disciplines in Non-Mediterranean Europe &amp; Sub-Saharan Africa.\u00a0 The Education Abroad Program Advisor will work with faculty from all areas of the University to create academic study abroad programming.\u00a0\u00a0 The EAPA will advise students interested in studying abroad in designated regions. The Advisor must have significant international experience and specialized understanding of education systems and culture within the designated regions.\u00a0 The EAPA should also be familiar with best practices of study abroad programming.<\/p>\n<p><em><b>Position:\u00a0<\/b><b>Education Abroad Outreach and Affairs (EAOA)<\/b><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Education Abroad Outreach and Affairs (EAOA) position will be located in, and oversee the Education Abroad\u2019s \u201cGateway\u201d office in the USF student center (Marshall Center).\u00a0 The EAOA will be the initial point of contact for USF students and departments, coordinating and conducting outreach initiatives to students as well as being the chief liaison to student groups and the departments within Student Affairs (Residence Life, Student Government, etc.).\u00a0 The EAOA will assist students in identifying the best program fit based upon his\/her location and\/or area of study preferences for their individual needs, referring them back to the appropriate Education Abroad Advisor.\u00a0 The EAOA will also work on increasing non-traditional study abroad participants focusing on creating greater diversity in the individuals and the majors of USF\u2019s study abroad population.\u00a0 Working with student groups, the office of Multicultural Affairs and academic units, the EAOA will conduct market research generally and more specifically with target audiences to create programming that best fits the needs of our students.\u00a0 The EAOA will also work with other education abroad advisors to further develop and manage the GloBull Ambassador Program for peer advising and recruitment with returned study abroad students<\/p>\n<p><em><b>Position:\u00a0<\/b><b>Incoming Exchange Coordinator<\/b><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>Develop and maintain all processes associated with incoming exchange and non-degree international students. Serve as point of contact for questions from prospective students and current partners with regard to application requirements and processes.\u00a0 Review students\u2019 applications to ensure they meet USF admissions criteria, and then coordinate official admission with the USF Admissions office.\u00a0 Disseminate information regarding entry visa requirements, housing, immunization, course registration and all aspects of student life at USF.\u00a0 Work closely with academic units throughout the university to determine specific course selection based on students\u2019 foreign transcripts and experience, and to ensure students\u2019 success during their program of study at USF.\u00a0 Oversee registration of students in appropriate USF courses.\u00a0 Create orientation program to communicate and explain USF Academic and Conduct Policies. Aid in resolving any problems related to students accounts, payments, housing, immigration documentation, registration, etc. among other issues.
