CGIS programming\u00a0serves students with diverse academic interests at international and\u00a0domestic sites on every inhabited continent.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Duties:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead a team of global and intercultural study advisors. Serve as liaison\u00a0between advisors and management team, making recommendations regarding\u00a0changes to policies and practices related to admissions, advising and\u00a0orientations. Oversee admissions for all programs under CGIS umbrella.\u00a0Conduct regular meetings and work planning with staff. Assign and evaluate\u00a0work of these staff members. Provide back-up advising as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Manage academic and disciplinary oversight of students. Coordinate\u00a0background checks. Hold disciplinary conferences, implement behavioral\u00a0contracts and update students &#8216; files as needed. Coordinate response to\u00a0disciplinary cases with appropriate units on campus. Ensure that all CGIS\u00a0students meet pre-departure requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Direct programming for pre-departure and returning students, including\u00a0orientations and debriefings. Coordinate student survey administration.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the portfolio of Global Course Connections programs.<\/li>\n<li>Serve on management team, assist with strategy. Rotate on-call phone\u00a0coverage on evenings and weekends to handle emergencies and other urgent\u00a0matters.<\/li>\n<li>Represent CGIS at professional meetings and conferences. Make occasional\u00a0site visits to evaluate potential partners and assesses current partners.<\/li>\n<li>Committee work and special duties as assigned. Liaise with other\u00a0administrative offices on campus, including but not limited to: Office of\u00a0Financial Aid, Registrar&#8217;s Office, Dean of Students, Office of Student\u00a0Conflict Resolution, Newnan Advising Center.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:<\/strong><br \/>\nBachelor&#8217;s degree and 3 years of previous administrative experience, or\u00a0equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience advising\u00a0undergraduate students. Previous experience working in a study abroad\u00a0office. Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to oversee\u00a0budgets, and experience with program evaluation. Ability to communicate\u00a0effectively with students, faculty, staff, partner institutions, and\u00a0students&#8217; families. Ability to handle multiple assignments for varied\u00a0programs concurrently. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Desired Qualifications:<\/strong><br \/>\nMasters degree highly preferred. Comprehensive and practical knowledge of\u00a0intercultural study in a higher-education setting. Knowledge of\u00a0intercultural theory and\/or pedagogy.
