Overview:<\/b><\/p>\n

<\/b>Under the auspices of the Center, the Global Learning Advisor provides\u00a0services to students who apply for, participate in, and return from\u00a0independent study away programs. This position will work closely with\u00a0students, faculty, staff, and abroad partners to ensure excellent advising,\u00a0planning, and program implementation. This is a full-time, 12 month position\u00a0that is benefits eligible.<\/p>\n

Minimum Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong>Master’s degree (preferred in college student personnel\/higher ed\u00a0administration with emphasis in international education\/study abroad) and\u00a0some college student advising required.<\/p>\n

Preferred Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Ability to act independently and take initiative to problem-solve while\u00a0supporting large numbers of students with very individualized situations\u00a0regarding study away.<\/li>\n
  2. Experience in counseling or advising college students.<\/li>\n
  3. Excellent written, verbal, personal communication, and organizational\u00a0skills to work closely with staff, faculty, students, and international\u00a0partners in a variety of settings.<\/li>\n
  4. Knowledge of domestic and international travel regulations of various\u00a0governmental entities, financial aid policies and registration policies as\u00a0they affect study away.<\/li>\n
  5. Ability to do basic math related to managing a budget and making budget\u00a0projections.<\/li>\n
  6. Ability to collect, organize, and analyze assessment and other data.<\/li>\n
  7. Experience with marketing and outreach initiatives, including public\u00a0speaking.<\/li>\n
  8. Strong computer and database skills including proficiency in Microsoft\u00a0Office required; experience with Studio Abroad software is preferred.<\/li>\n
  9. Experience studying\/working\/living abroad is preferred. Full professional\u00a0proficiency (written and oral) in a language other than English is\u00a0preferred. Activity in professional organizations in the field of\u00a0international education is also preferred.<\/li>\n
  10. Knowledge of other experiential learning and high impact educational\u00a0practices supported by the Center preferred.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
