Company Overview:<\/b>
\nThe Development Assistant (Foundation and Government Relations) provides the administrative backbone for fundraising from foundations and government agencies, ensuring the smooth operation of all aspects of Japan Society\u2019s efforts in these areas, including research and profiles; gift processing and acknowledgement; drafting donor reports; data entry and record keeping; and general office work.<\/p>\n

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.<\/p>\n

1. Develop project reports for donors,
\n2. Assist with proposal writing,
\n3. Gift processing and acknowledgement,
\n4. Data entry and record keeping,
\n5. Help research and identify new foundations and government prospects and prepare prospect profiles in
\nconsultation with the Director of Foundation and Government Relations,
\n6. Track prospects in Raiser\u2019s Edge,
\n7. Complete general administrative tasks, such as maintaining files.
\n8. Provide staffing support at various Society events, as needed.<\/p>\n

Qualifications:<\/b>
\nBachelor\u2019s degree. Must be a flexible and detail-oriented team player with ability to multitask.\u00a0 Excellent written, oral and intercultural communication skills are essential.\u00a0 Strong organizational skills.\u00a0 Experience with database processing (preferably Raiser\u2019s Edge\u2014including the building of queries and custom reports, and prospect tracking utilities) required. Knowledge of Japanese culture a plus.<\/p>\n
