Overview:<\/b>
\nThe GenNET Interactive Television (ITV) teacher is responsible for teaching in the assigned area and implements instructional activities for students through the use of interactive video, computers and other instructional technology available in the distance learning environment.\u00a0 Responsible for following established curriculum outcomes and adopting instructional delivery strategies to teach in the assigned area.<\/p>\n

Essential Duties:\u00a0 <\/b>
\n1.\u00a0Demonstrates proficiency in the use of interactive video equipment, computers and other technology to deliver the curriculum objectives and
\ncourse content in the assigned area.\u00a0 Instruction is within a live, two-way interactive television system and is delivered by the instructor
\nfrom a Genesee County school.
\n2. Demonstrates competence in the implementation of a variety of instructional delivery strategies to meet the needs of the students in a live, two-
\nway interactive television environment.
\n3. Maintains accurate attendance records and progress reports in accordance with established GenNET guidelines.
\n4.\u00a0Communicates with students, parents and instructional support staff at each of the participating sites in accordance with established GenNET
\nguidelines.
\n5.\u00a0Must be highly qualified delivering Japanese instruction to students at levels I & II.
\n6.\u00a0Participates in monthly meetings and related staff development and training programs.
\n7.\u00a0Establishes a positive learning community, meets individual learning styles and ensures participation of all students in the distance learning
\nenvironment.
\n8.\u00a0Follows GenNET policies and procedures.<\/p>\n

Other Duties: <\/b>
\n1.\u00a0Follows host district and participating site district board policies and administrative guidelines\/procedures.
\n2.\u00a0May travel between the host site and the remote sites to meet with students, parents and instructional support staff.
\n3. Performs other related duties as assigned.<\/p>\n

Qualifications:<\/b><\/p>\n

Education:<\/b>
\nBachelor’s degree required.\u00a0 Valid\u00a0 Michigan\u00a0 teacher certificate in secondary education required.\u00a0 Endorsement in the subject area assignment required and documentation of having passed the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC) in the assigned area required.<\/p>\n

Experience<\/b>:
\nExperience teaching in a distance learning environment preferred.<\/p>\n

Skills\/Other:<\/b>
\nDemonstrated ability to utilize the GenNET instructional technology to successfully teach and deliver instructional outcomes to students in an interactive environment.\u00a0 Excellent oral and written communication skills.\u00a0 Demonstrated mental\/physical ability and stamina for meeting the essential duties of the position and the ability to travel to and from the intermediate school district and remote sites as needed.\u00a0 Punctuality and good attendance are requirements for the position.\u00a0 Ability to make decisions in accordance with board policies and procedures with minimum supervision.<\/p>\n
